an Autumn necklace and a butterfly canvas

Today, my bloggy friends, you get two chippy projects for the price of one visit:

Just look at the Leaky Shed Studio Autumn Leaf Crown--isn't it gorgeous? (Just so you know, anything bold print is a link.)

While this is obviously perfect for some lovely fall and harvest themed layouts and cards, it immediately made me think of a necklace--it's 4 inches across, a perfect size:

Leaky Shed chipboard colors up fabulously with chalks!!!

Add some pearly and metallic chalks, a chain, and some charms--voila!  A pretty autumn pendant.



Also, I recently did a 6x6 canvas for my column at Unruly Paper Arts, a painty piece featuring the Leaky Shed Studio Large Ring Frame.  However,  I want to give it to my aunt, who loves butterflies, so I added the Large Spring Butterfly and two of the Small Spring Butterflies (they come in a three pack):

Julie Nutting Classy Mixed Media Canvas

Hi everyone, welcome to the Leaky Shed Studio blog! I recently shared a Julie Nutting Princess Canvas I created using the Princess 8" Doll that I made as a Christmas present for my niece. At that time, I mentioned that I would be sharing a second canvas I made for my other niece. I used many of the same techniques to create this canvas as I did my first one and if you are interested in a detailed tutorial you can visit my blog 17turtles.

This canvas was created using the Julie Nutting Classy 8" along with the Ring Frame Large.  I once again painted the frame using a Krylon Silver Leafing Pen and then added glitter to the edges for some extra shimmer and bling.

I love playing and creating with these dolls, especially the 8" dolls. Because they are larger in size than the 4" dolls, they are a little easier to work with. I once again created a paper pieced dress from patterned paper using the tutorial I have posted on my blog.

As I created both of these canvases, it reminded me of how much I used love playing with my dolls when I was a little girl. I think, I still have a bit of that little girl inside me who loves to play with her dolls!

 

It is so much fun to add the little details...all the way down to her silver shoes.

Julie Nutting Princess Canvas

Juliana from 17turtles here with you today to share part one of a set of canvases that I am creating as Christmas gifts for my nieces using the Leaky Shed Studio Julie Nutting Dolls and Ring Frames.

Both of my nieces love pink and all things glittery, so it was fun to dress up the Julie Nutting Princess in a pink and cream patterned paper dress. I then added some shimmer and shine by painting her shoes silver using a Krylon Silver Leafing Pen.

No Princess is complete without her crown, so I gave her a silver glittered one of course.

The frame behind her is the Ring Frame Large and I painted it using a Krylon Silver Leafing Pen and then added silver glitter to the inside and outside rings before placing it behind the Princess.
