Spring Time Flower Bouquet with Kitsnbitscraps

Hi Veronica here today and I am sharing with you a bouquet of flowers!  Yes I know it is January, which is why I felt like a pick me up and what better way to do that, than with flowers!

I am giving this pretty bouquet of flowers to a good friend just to say "Thank You".  This is a simple and very cute project and it would make a lovely gift for your friends or family.

Here are my steps.

I painted all my Leaky Shed Chipboard pieces white so that any color I decided to give these lovelies would be bright.  Then I used Art Anthology Sorbet paint and Copic Markers alcohol inks to color my blank chip boards.

The last thing I did to my chipboard was to emboss them with clear embossing powder.  Then I took some BBQ sticks and colored them green for the stems.  I used a hot glue gun to attach my stems to my flowers and added a little piece of felt to the backs.

To "fill Up" my bouquet I added some grass sprigs and some felt flowers I made a while ago.  Tie a pretty silk ribbon to a mason jar and voila - a pretty gift.

"Dreams" Tag with Large Spring Butterfly and Altered Pages Products by Tracey S

Hi, it's Tracey S. here to share the tag I created for the partnership between Leaky Shed Studio and Altered Pages. It could also be used as a decorative wall hanging. I thought this sentiment would be great for a milestone or graduation and fits with our theme this month of "Flies."

"Souls Have Dreams"

Tips and Techniques
This is the Large Spring Butterfly by Leaky Shed Studio. In order to achieve the layering, I soaked the chipboard in warm water for a few moments until soaked through. Then I carefully pulled apart 4 layers from each wing. I dried with a heat tool, shaping the wings as I dried. Once dry the layers hold their shape well. I then painted with Gesso and used a paint brush to apply stickles for some sweet sparkle. To finish it off, I colored the antennae with a Distress Marker and placed a couple small Prima flowers down the center.

Altered Pages sent me an amazing selection of gorgeous butterfly images.  I received a sticker sheet of gorgeous vinyl butterflies. I wanted them to be dimensional with gently curved wings, so I applied the stickers to white cardstock, and fussy cut around the images.

I have to share a funny story. I found this great quote, however, it said, "Birds have wings." I carefully wrote it out on the tag, then realized it did not go with the butterflies. I'm so thankful for gesso which I painted over my first sentiment before changing up the sentiment to go with my butterflies.

I fussy cut this transparency monarch image from Altered Pages. I also stamped sweet butterfly wings around the word "wings" in my sentiment. I needed to pop up the sentiment to layer it over the thicker velvet, so used 3D Foam tabs from Altered Pages.

Across the bottom, I've layered a length of lace embellished with adhesive half pearls.

Here's a close-up of one of the vinyl butterfly stickers.

I used a variety of distressed fibers to tie my tag.

The background is stenciled, misted and dry brushed with gesso.
I've layered in a doily, feathers, and chicken wire.
